Time flies

Yeah, time flies a bit faster that I think it should. But now I'm back for real, and thinking of redoing the design for this blog a bit, a little at a time.

At the moment I'm in the middle my cosplay plans for KodachiCon in May. I've soon got all the patterns done so I can start sew for real. And I also did the last shopping today. Now I've got lots and lots of spandex, craft foam, a little fake fur and a pirate sword. Once I get a little more done I start posting some pics here and if you are inpatient you can always look at my Twitter where I usually post it first.

My poor excuse of a first attempt for a bodysuit. It went not-so-good.

Well I have a date with the sofa now. So bye!

Upcoming present and recording

It would be a good idea to post a little piece of post since it's been a while and I wanted to tell you all that I have a Christmas present for you all. I will post it on Christmas Eve, since that is the day I celebrate Christmas.

On another note. Since Blogger is a bit creppy and I can find out that people that find my blog often search for Amewarashi or Usagi Tsukino-cosplay I will try to post some cosplay-vlogs about them. I'm in the middle of recording my attempt to be a creative vlogger using my camera. :)

But now I am going to finish my commission for the month. More about that comes after Christmas as it is a julklapp. Bye!

Hopefully pink

Just remembered that I forgot to post my last two outfits last week. Guess I make time for that tomorrow as I will run around like a maniac and hoping for my hair to be pastel pink or something similar at least. I'm running a test at the moment as I found a place in my hair that was decent pale blond and will see in the morning if it worked. Hopefully the hair won't fall off during the night as the dye hasn't got any chemicals in it.

On another note. I kind of started to listen to Vocaloid, specially Luka's Just Be Friends. I even got it as my cell phone signal. I guess that could be my way of saying I really like the song. And it even got me thinking of cosplaying Luka. Well if I ever will cosplay a Vocaloid I guess it would be Luka or Gumi. But now I should be getting to sleep, since time is ticking away.

One of the lovely pictures I've found with Luka Megumi.

ConFusion, we can't meet this time

I was planning on going to ConFusion, a new convention for japanese pop culture in Sweden, but now I can't attend it. The day after the convention I am supposed to be in Hungary so it is kind of impossible. I'm going there to attend a big international library conference, and it is sort of a once-in-a-lifetime-moment so will skip the japanese pop culture for once. Well with the exception that I will try to wear lolita at least one day at the conference, I really think lolita fashion fits the librarians profession.

It also means I have to get to cosplay Sheryl Nome at some other time. Perhaps at OkashiiCon, since all the other cons are busy.

  • OkashiiCon, March
  • KodachiCon, April-May
    • Final Fantasy
  • UppCon, June
    • Sheryl Nome - Macross Frontier
    • Secret - Will attend the cosplay contest for the first time :)
    • Odette - the Swan Princess
  • EuroCon, Jun
    • Don't know if I will cosplay, but it is a sf and fantasy literature convention.
Well, now I should finish my friends patterns so bye!

Quick change in plans

I had planed to cosplay Velvet this Saturday at KodachiKun. But as time went a bit faster than I thought I don't have the time to finish her outfit as I want it. Like hand embroider her headgear and making her sphere weapon. But since I have started her and I want to finish I will continue as soon as I have the effort again. Probably sometime next week.

So instead as Velvet I will go as Usagi. Which means I will finally get Usagi's school uniform 100 % finish. And I also have the time to make a new brosh.

And that's all I have to say. Tomorrow I will begin my journey towards Kodachi, with a stop at my folks house. Bye!

PS. It could be another cosplay. I'm not 100 % sure just yet.

& a little lolita

A few days ago I started thinking. All I ever post here is about cosplay. To me it is not all that surprising as lolita is to me not a hobby but a style I dress in. Therefore I renamed the blog to DcastEye Cosplay, & a little lolita. That means I will still be posting about lolita, but this blog will mostly contain cosplay and sewing.

A little treat. The photo is one of those times when I first started to wear lolita. Me and my friend were doing commercial for a Japanese culture event and dressed up since we were going to be in the newspaper, me in lolita and she in my Haruhi Suzumiya-costume.

But now I have to write a paper for school so for now. Bye!

PS. Later in week I will treat you on a giveaway. :D

Cosplay Plans Fall and Winter

Here is some of what I have planned for this fall. Conventions and events to attend and cosplays to sew, as soon as I get money.
This is what I have planned:
KodachiKun, 1-day
? Seychelles - Hetalia
? Sheryl Nome - Macross Frontier

J-popcon, 3-days
Friday: Sheryl Nome - Macross Frontier (Casual red dress - ep 2-3)
Saturday: Elizabeth - Black Butler/Kuroshitsuji (Valentine-dress)
Sunday: ?

ConFusion, 3-days
?

And I'm sure there will be changes as I talk with my cosplay group as well, since most part of it is going crazy with cosplay events this summer, while I lay low.

More on the blog?

This spring/summer I had a poll asking what you wanted to see more on this blog and the results were this <---.

  • What is it that you want to see in sewing? Work in progress or just some random photos I take when sewing. It could also be things that I sew that are neither cosplay or lolita.
  • Lolita: What do you want to read in the lolita department? I use lolita clothing as clothing. It is something that I wear, but I am thinking of writing an post on how I found and started dress in lolita. I am also kind of bad at taking outfit pix, but I will try to do better in that department.
  • Tutorials: Working on my first skirt tutorial, but I have at least two more planned. What do you want a tutorial about?
  • Events: I don't attend that many events and I don't feel like spilling out everything that happens in my life on this blog but I'm getting better at taking photos whenever I'm out doing things so there will be more photos in the event-part at least.
Is there anything that you would like me to take up in this blog? I want this to be my blog and therefore it is much more cosplay than lolita, since cosplay is one of my hobbies while lolita is something that I wear everyday I feel like it.

Back and sewing!

I'm back! I didn't mean to take such long time on me to get this blog back in order or just making everything that I needed to do.

<--- Here is a preview of one of the things that I have been doing the lasted weeks. It is my 14th century dress that I made this summer for the medieval fair that I attended this last weekend. More of that comes soon.

So this weekend I will finally get my high waisted skirt tutorial up and running here on the blog. I have some tiny things to correct but that means it is almost done. To make up for the delay I will also include a give away. But what it contains is so far a secret.

So until the weekend comes I will work to get the tutorial and my give away done. Bye!

On vacation

Yes, I'm away for a while and have been away for a while as well. I got a job and slept alot and then I took the train and went visit a friend and I still haven't gotten home. I will in the following week so I can come home scanning my upcoming tutorial.

On Wednesday I will finally post part 1 of my high waisted tutorial, which will contain the pattern making. And then part 2, which contains all the sewing will follow in the end of the week, if I don't have too work.

Other than that, I will go to a medieval fair in the end of august. And me and a friend of mine have been appointed seamstresses for the rest of my gang as only one one of us have a outfit. That will be really fun since the fair accept clothes from early 500 till 16th Century. That is a lot of years to cover and many fashions to look in to.

But now I'm going back to my vacation and see what's going to happen today. ^^

Ludicrous_box's Cosplay Meme

I was a bit bored so I found a cosplay meme at ludicrous_box on LiveJournal (Google is your friend sometimes).

Most Accurate Cosplay: Momo Hinamori. My friend said that it sometimes looked as if I walked out of the musical, yeah there is at the moment eight musicals based on the first two arcs in Bleach.

Most Difficult Cosplay: Ame-Warashi and Usagi Tsukino. Ame-Warashi because it was the first time I had to style a wig, that went fine, but I was so nervous. Usagi's costume had so many details. It took me forever just to pin attach the ribbons on the collar.

Easiest Cosplay: Ranka Lee. I had the wig, or a green that fitted, home and sewed the dress in four hours, that is good for being me as I am so slow when sewing.

Most Out Of Character Cosplay: Haruhi Suzumiya. I was really nervous that time and was sitting quiet in a corner, the total opposite of Haruhi.

Most Fun-to-Cosplay: Ame-Warashi and Usagi in split position. I love Ame-Warashi even if people don't recognise her that well to that point that I can hear her complain about my cosplay in my head. No I'm not crazy, I just have a very clear idea about what she would do if someone would call her a spirit or ghost, and not a rain maker. ^^
Usagi was really fun since people did recognise her. I can still remember being stop every tenth meter so that someone could take a photo. And of cause I have always wanted to cosplay her as well.

Sexiest Cosplay: Well, I guess that until now I have for the most part only cosplayed sweet innocent girls. But I am working on Velvet from Odin's Sphere, and she doesn't have that much clothes on. I just have to train up my muscles in my stomacharea first.

Most Comfortable Cosplay: Momo's shinigami suit. I never thought that a costume held together with pins and a waistband could be so comfortable, but it is.

Least Comfortable Cosplay: Unfortunately it's Usagi. That wig keeps crawling up in my neck. Other then the wig it's comfy.

Costume with longest hotelroom prep time: Usagi. I changed in the toilet in UppCon and it took more than a half-hour time. That wig and all the small pieces of costume.

Costume Garment you wear out of costume: Ranka Lee's dress. I love it. I saw someone cosplay her at DA first and thought: what a nice summer dress. And now I use it as that as well.

Favourite Wig/Hairstyle: Momos. I can use my own hair, even thou I have to dye it dark brown. I sometimes uses the bun outside cosplay since it so comfortable. But I also like the wig to Ame-Warashi. The hair on the clips have a tendency to bounces as I walk. :D

Favourite prop: I have had that many prop, since I've been to lazy on that part. But I have the broach to Usagi that my friend made as I tried and succeeded to sew two cosplays in the night before UppCon.

Favourite accessory: Gloves. It's so fun and it really helps me get in character with at least Ame-Warashi.

Ever been in a group cosplay? Yeah. Me and my friends even started one cosplay group called Pinku no Shoulaceu, or just Pink Shoelaces. So far we have cosplayed Bleach in a huge group along with some other cosplay groups.

Ever cosplayed a pairing with someone? No, but I will. Me and a friend of mine is planning a Ciel and Elizabeth-cosplay from Black Butler/Kuroshitsuji.

Pairing support? Qwastanja @ DA

If yes, how steamy? The characters are twelve. It just gets cute. :3

Ever been to a photoshoot? Yes. At UppCon 10, I attended a Bleach photoshoot. We were so many in my group that it was difficult to find room for all in the photos. ^.^
And then I have been to photoshoots that me and my friends have done :D

Ever entered a contest? Yes. I've been taking part in three contest so far.

Ever won an award in a contest? No, it's a real shame. But the winners were truly worth it. ^^

The Costume you'll never finish: Sakura Haruno from Naruto. I started sewing the costume at a chance, but I never really sewed on it for more than one day. And it was pink, not red as in the manga/anime.

The Costume you've always wanted to make: Ame-Warashi. Now I can't wait to get started on my second costume for her. That is so gorgous -drools-

The Costume you'd wear if it weren't for your body type: I always wanted Fai's clothes from Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle. But he is so small and tall, and I'm not really that body type.

The Costume that you can't make for lack of money: Madam Red's outfits. I like every one she wears, and yes I am a sucker for the Victorian Era. It's because I want them to be all velvet, since that would fit her. :D

I'm alive

This time has been full of school, sick again, sewing and lazying around the house. But now I have finally gotten my mom's dress done and a skirt to myself in silk, I love that fabric. So expect some photos tomorrow. And I'm wondering if I should post thing I sew besides cosplay and lolita here. Well I'm doing it anyway.

And I have during this time also come to the conclusion that I haven't afford to attend any conventions this summer as I have no money. So instead of that I hoping for some photo shoots to my cosplay and sewing a lot. Since I have a great deal of fabric to get rid of as it will soon take over more than just two corners of my apartment.

So I was just posting to make sure to you that I am alive. I've just been busy and not felt like posting anything. Hopefully I can get that under order soon. And after I have come home again, after spending three weeks at my parents' house, I can finally get my high waisted tutorial done. Yeah for that!

Convention and cosplaygroup

This summer there is two big convention aimed for anime/manga/cosplay in Sweden. Now I just have to chose which I'll be attending. Because as it looks now I can only afford one.

  • Cheap.
  • In July, when it looks as I can.
  • Said to be more like a small convention, cosy.
  • More expensive.
  • In August, the days before I begin school. Could be a trouble.
  • Made by cosplayers for cosplayers. Lots of cosplay.
  • In the middle of Stockholm. The big city.
Oh, the more I think about it, the more confused I get. I really want to go to Meuw, as it is aimed for cosplayers and it looks really fun. But at the same time NärCon has always been one of the conventions that I wanted to go to. I guess I talk with my cosplaygroup and ask what they think.

Yeah, I don't think I have told you. But me and my friends started our own cosplaygroup: Pinku no Shoulasu. Or just pink shoelaces. Not that anything changed as we still do all our own cosplays of the character we like, but now we got ourself a name. And I have appointed myself as Master of Pattern. I guess we will all have our titles as time goes by.

Now I have to make patterns for my group and sew a dress for my mum, so for now. Bye!

Delays

So I got the flu and then my iron broke down a few days ago. But I seem to be improving my health, and I hope to be able to sew some things this weekend. Including my high waisted skirt for the upcoming tutorial. But here is something to watch until then:

Happy New Cosplay-Year!

This year (read: last year) I finally got this cosplayblog, and a little lolita, put together in at least one piece. Even thou I´m in the latest days have been doing some changes that I´m going to keep doing until I feel finish. But I think it does look cleaner now.

I want to thank everybody for all the lovely comments you have given me and also that I´ve got so many followers. Happy!

So what awaits this coming year. I know at least that I´m going to two big animeconvention this spring, and perhaps one in the summer. But it means at least three new cosplaycostumes that I´m hopefully is going to make before summer comes. I´m so exited and wants to jump up and down at the moment. At UppCon I´m going to be part of two groups, one Bleach (with my Hinamori) and ta-daaam, Sailor Moon. Finally I´m going to cosplay Usagi.

So stay tune for more cosplay in the future. Bye, bye!

Heartfelt Award!

I got a award from Naka from Naka´s Net.

Do you reach for a cup of cocoa or tea when you're relaxing, seeking comfort, sharing a plate of cookies with family and friends? You know the feeling you get when you drink a yummy cup of cocoa, tea, or a hot toddy? That is what the Heartfelt Award is all about, feeling warm inside.

Want to know about the rules, visit Naka´s Net.

Since I don´t really like this kind of nomination (to be forced to nominate), so instead I want to post a list of blogs that gives me the same feeling as the award. Feel free to visit them!

Deciding next cosplay?

Thing about deciding you´re next cosplay. I have three different characters to chose from. And I´m going to my next convention in less than a month.
  • Amewarashi - xxxHOLiC: One of my favourite-characters of all time. I have the patterns and the fabric, and most accessories. But the wigs is the big problem, I have to order it overseas, and then style it.
  • Lucy Heartfilia - Fairy Tail: I´ve read the manga since the start, and now it´s becoming anime. Not so complicated costume, and the wig´s not that hard to catch.
  • Ranka Lee - Macross Frontier: I fell in love with one of hers dresses, and that was the reason I started watching the anime, which I really like. I have patterns, and most fabric. I just have to get a wig and learn Nyan Nyan.
The thing is. I´m going to cosplay all of these characters, I just don´t really know where to start. But it´s leaning against Lucy. I´ll guess it will show here soon.

Just so you know. I haven´t abanden this blog, I´m just redecoreding it. Oh, I really have to work on my english. Well, everything is going to be transleted. I´m going to add more info about the characters, the costumes and upcoming cosplays. I´m also planning on writing about the conventions I´m going to, or have gone.
