Busy, busy and then I got three jobs

I'm back. Well at the moment I'm busy since I kind of have ended up with three jobs where I sit at least one hour on the bus each day. But that also means I can afford more cosplay in the future! Yahoouuu! Well anyway these last months I have finished school, moved and well hunting jobs (which I got).

So this weekend I will give you a longer updates on photo shoots I been at and some small events. But here is a dress I'm selling at etsy.com so far.

Lolita 7-days challenge: Monday

For this week I felt like challenge myself by wearing lolita the whole week. Usually I just dress in it whenever I feel like it, but I wanted to try it on whole time. So for the whole week I will try to post daily outfits when in lolita fashion.

And you might see the difference in my hair. I was aiming for blonde, but kind of ended up with orange as I have a lot of red pigments in my original hair as well as my previous dye. It ain't as orange as in the photos but closer to the Directions apricot colour.

But here is today's daily outfit:
JSK: Metamorphose - Gingham Cherry Highwaist
Alice bow: Handmade
Rest: Offbrand

This dress look so short after I altered the straps so it could fit me. Since I'm short most things are to big for my shoulders so on this dress it was so nice that the straps are attached with buttons at the back. So I fitted the straps and sewed on a couple of new buttons and now the dress fits me, which I love since this dress is one of my dreamdresses.

& a little lolita

A few days ago I started thinking. All I ever post here is about cosplay. To me it is not all that surprising as lolita is to me not a hobby but a style I dress in. Therefore I renamed the blog to DcastEye Cosplay, & a little lolita. That means I will still be posting about lolita, but this blog will mostly contain cosplay and sewing.

A little treat. The photo is one of those times when I first started to wear lolita. Me and my friend were doing commercial for a Japanese culture event and dressed up since we were going to be in the newspaper, me in lolita and she in my Haruhi Suzumiya-costume.

But now I have to write a paper for school so for now. Bye!

PS. Later in week I will treat you on a giveaway. :D

High Waisted Skirt in Velvet

Yes, I couldn't make myself not post this. This is how the skirt turned out, but this is only one of many versions of the skirt that can be made. I will include some in the tutorial and that is one of the reason it takes time.

It is made in cotton velvet and has shirring in the back and zipper in the side. It is a bit longer than the regular lolita-skirt but I like that, it won't be so cold in the winter then. I added a ruffle at the hem, cause I felt it needed that.

And I have changed the system for the comments. I think it is much easier now. ^^

More for the closet

I got a package today, and it had a lovely dress in it. It's so cute and I can't wait to start using it. I think it will be perfect for the hot summer days that I hope will come soon.

I'm going for KodachiCon this weekend and will live-post what happens during the time when I remember. Otherwise you could check out my Twitter or my friend CarpeDentum.

Now I'm going to make the final touches on my cosplay, including my wig.

White Flower Blouse - Lolita

I've gotten one of my unfinished blouse done and here it is. It's made of embroidered cotton/poly mix. The patterns is based of a blouse in Gosu Rori vol. 6, but I've made my own changes like shirring only in the back and laying low on the laces. It also became a bit shorter than I expected, but since I manly use it to JSK it doesn't matter. Click on the image, to see the details.

News on the tutorial: don't expect it to be done until after I get back from UppCon, in three weeks. I've sewn the skirt, but seeing black details on black velvet is a bit tricky so I'm going to make another in a better fabric.

On the cosplayfront: I have two and a half cosplays to finish in the next two weeks. But my wig for Usagi has come and it's so cute.

Now I should go back to reading since I have a test for tomorrow. Bye!

Tutorial Sketch

So I've made up my mind about doing a tutorial for a skirt. The one I have in mind is the one on the sketch. Here's some details:
  • High-waisted skirt in velvet
  • Front: buttons
  • Back: shirring and corsettlacing
  • Pleats
  • Zipper in side
It might not get exactly as the sketch, but similar to it. Let me know what you think about it.

KodachiKun:09 no 2

A bit late to report what happened, but here it comes.

The day went fast, even thou KodachiKun held out six more hours than usual. There was animedisco, cosplayskits and Jepordy. We (me, and two more) came a bit later than usually. We wasn´t there from the very start, but now afterwards I´m glad, since I was so tired that I almost fell asleep on the way home. But first of all, I didn´t cosplay. My schoolwork to the time that I had, and instead I wore my first lolita brand-dress. A pink Baby, the Stars Shine Bright with hand-crotched lace.

So what happened on the con. Well I got my ass kicked in a drumgame by a friend who only could use her one hand. I don´t know if it means I don´t have any rhythmic sense, or if my left hand lays a second behind, of if I´m just no good in videogame, but I would guess a mix of the last two.

There was the cosplayshow, filled with skits and runway. Somehow this show´s unspoken theme seemed to be Hetalia. There was one big group that made this skit that even those who haven´t seen the anime would get. I always like those, since I can´t see everything.

Before the cosplayshow, so was it Jepordy. And it was anime-Jepordy. We got in second place! Well, it was about that we had aimed for, not first and not last. Sometimes the questions were easy and sometime non could even guess the answers. At that point we sat with mouths opened like O. But there was at least a bit I could, like the butler in the Black Butler, Sebastian and the most macho man in Bleach, Zaraki Kempachi. There were more I could than that, but I skip that since I don´t think your that interested in that.

When the night came, the con closed it´s doors, and there where two opions. You could ether play in the animedisco or watch Ponyo on the Cliff in the movie-theather. I did both. I started and ended on the disco and also when to see the film, and it was so cute. I really recommend you to see it, specially if you like the Cats Return or Toroto.

And we went to the local McDonalds to scare the staff and all the families eating there. And it was two people asking us what was going on. I had hoped for at least four to ask, since that would brake the record.

The day after my muscles ached, and I think it most was all the jumping at the disco and the half day in really high high-heels. I switched shoes after half the day, since I had trouble keeping up with my friends since I started to walk slower and slower. But even so love my super high-heel pumps from hell, since they´re so cute.

Photosession on the Love Path

Now Let My Happines Be by ~dcasteye on deviantART

Steps for me by ~dcasteye on deviantART

Into the Light by ~dcasteye on deviantART

I made my friends come and have a photosession with me in the nearby forest. It wasn´t all photos on me, but that the ones I´m uploading. It was a great day for at shoot. Not to sunny, nor to cloudy. And this is my favourites I´ve uploaded, we took about sixhundred photos in that hour we were out, but all were not as successful.

First out was a piratedress I´ve sewn to a friend. It´s a bit to big for me, but I liked it and I wanted to have photos to proven I´ve sewn it. I also redecorated my mini top hat with a skullpin, but it can´t be seen that very well.

Second of is a simple skirt with elastic waist. I didn´t have time to sew it any different. But more about that in a different post later.

Mini Rose Top Hat

I finally did it. My first mini top hat. Made of cottontwill and patterns from Gosu Rori vol 6. And the ribbon is brown, since I didn´t have any black at home, so it´s just temporary. The rose comes from H&M.

The dress is also made from me, and not that much lolita, but I like it anyway. More info about it: click here

And thanks for all the comments about my headdress.

Sweet headdress

This is what happens when you let me lose with and sewingmachine and lot of ribbons.

Cotton for base, and a lot of eyelet lace and satin ribbons. Sewn onto a small tiara.
Guess I have to sew myself a matching dress someday.

Anyway my clothes. Underskirt in cotten and thyll. Skirt in cotton and eyelet lace. I will take details later. Blouse bought. Alice bow of cotton.

Hinata-sou - Weekend with Japan

It was finally time for the big final of our spring. A twoday-weekend with most things you can do that relate to anime and manga.
Pictures of me in my lolita-outfits. And I don´t have any better. But I will take more of them.
