White Wizard Begins!

So this Saturday I'm going to Retrospelsmässan in Göteborg. Since it is a fair aimed for retro video games I took the opportunity to cosplay from the first Final Fantasy game, and I'm going as a white wizard. This is one of my more spontaneous cosplays since I already have three others to be done with next week when it's time for UppCon, but I couldn't resist to make a white wizard.

The white wizard is the upgraded White Mage so I will be going around with a red cape along with my robe.
The start of the robe without the sleeves and the hood.
I based the pattern of the my middle age robes and just added a bit more gores.
First testing. I added the ribbon just to see what it would look like, and well I have a really big underskirt that I won't use in the final cosplay. ^^
The hood was added. It is huge, humongous and just big.
That's all for now. Now I should be studying a bit more so I can continue all the sewing later.

Busy and more busy

You might have noticed that I haven't been here so much and it has it's reasons. I am at the moment writhing my final essay and it demands a lot of time. But I can let you in on a few starters of my Rosa cosplay.

So far I've only started on her top, one of her millions sashes, the cape and the shoulderpads.
First I had to decided which fabrics I would use for the top. In the end I go a white thin cotton, two layers of old lace curtain, a thick green cotton and the lining.

Cutting out fabric. This is actually the thing about sewing that I find the most boring and usually the fabric lays on my floor a couple of days before I measure and finally cut out the patterns.

The lining complete with 'shim'?
Well, I still have to sew it together.

The parts all put together, now I just have to sew it together.
Well that's all I have photos of so far. Bye!

Rikku - A start

A week ago I was at KodachiCon were me and my group entered the cosplay contest with one of our better skits. It was my debut as Rikku from Final Fantasy X, and my costume isn't done yet but I felt that I could bring it anyway, specially since we did a Final Fantasy vs Naruto skit.
The best detailed picture I had. :)

It sparkled! It was gold, of course Rikku the Thief wanted it. ^^

Battlepose! And major muscle pain after posing a whole weekend.
A bigger convention rapport is coming up this weekend. So until then. Bye bye!

Better and Almost a Yukata

I've finally gotten better. The flu is over and now I can start sewing things again. Good thing, considering I'm going to my next convention on Saturday and I haven't even started on Ame-Warashi's dress yet. But I did sew a yukata today for my friend as I did get her to cosplay Zarashi-Warashi along with mine Ame-Warashi.

So I took the first and best fabric I had at home and started to cut. Well to tell the truth I first drew the patterns from Gosu Rori v 11.

I hope to finish it tomorrow as I only have a bow to attach in the back of the obi. The fabrics made it really feel like spring and I hope it will get warmer for the weekend so that my friend won't freeze in this.

Tutorial Sketch

So I've made up my mind about doing a tutorial for a skirt. The one I have in mind is the one on the sketch. Here's some details:
  • High-waisted skirt in velvet
  • Front: buttons
  • Back: shirring and corsettlacing
  • Pleats
  • Zipper in side
It might not get exactly as the sketch, but similar to it. Let me know what you think about it.

Preview: Ranka Lee

So, one day before going to OkashiiCon I started to sew. And I got it finished, or at least the dress. I still kneed to get some better shoulderstaps and a pair of bootcover, but that's all.
Hopefully I can get a picture of the whole outfit I wore on the con someday.
More of OkashiiCon comes later, once I'm done writing it. I'm also working on a tutorial for a lolita-skirt, that I think will be done in two weeks, if everything goes as I think it will.

Usagi Tsukino - Progress II

So today I got a bit on the blouse. I finshed the collar and the sleeves. The sleeves might have been getting a bit big, but I still like them so I guess I won't do anything about it. All that is left now is to attach the collar and the hem. Just click on the photos for close up.

Left to do: attaching the collar on the blouse and the hem. Sew the skirt and buying the wig and shoes.

Usagi Tsukino - Progress I

I've finally gotten my pattern done. So I started to sew the blouse. I've gotten my front and back together, even thou there is no picture on that. After that I started on the collar, which is almost done. I also cut the collar on side, since it will fall much nicer then, but I'll guess that will show when the whole blouse is done, hopefully this weekend.

Left: last details on the collar, sleeves and putting it all together. Sewing the skirt. Buying the wig and shoes. Making broach and ribbon.
Done: Pattern and socks.

Can't wait until it's done! :D

Sakura Haruno - in progress

I don´t know if I ever going to finish this. Maybe I´ll remake it to a friend. Who knows.
I made this in an afternoon, so there isn´t that much work on it.
